Long Valley Estates Water Improvement Project 2008
The Kane County Water Conservancy District (KCWCD) has been approached by the Long Valley Water Company to provide service to the 235 lots in the Long Valley Estates Subdivision. The current water system does not comply with current state standards and does not service all lots in the subdivision.
Our engineering firm, Sunrise Engineering, has done an initial study and recommended that the old water distribution system be abandoned and a new system be constructed according to state guidelines.
This project will consist of drilling a new well, constructing a new water storage tank, and installing new pipeline, fire hydrants and water meters in the Long Valley Estates subdivision. The new system will offer water service, as well as fire protection, to all lots in the Long Valley Estates Subdivision.
Currently, this project is being reviewed and voted on by the property owners of Long Valley Estates Subdivision. For a copy of the ballot letter with details of the costs to each property owner, click here. The construction of this project is scheduled to start around August15th, 2008, pending a favorable vote of the property owners. The construction schedule is approximately 120 days with a projected completion date of December 15th, 2008.

Progress Update - 10/1/2006:
The contractor is currently on Schedule to meet the November 2nd completion date. There is still much to be done and the construction schedule will still be susceptible to changes in the weather.
All mainline for the project should be installed by the 6th of October. Following mainline completion Meter Barrels will continue to be installed during October, weather permitting. Roadwork including installation of new culverts will continue on all of the roads in Swains Creek throughout October. Kane County has also directed that Gravel Road Base be installed, this year, from the Pavilion across the dam to the Harris Springs/Spruce/View Drive intersection and along the Main Swains Creek Road from the Pavilion to the intersection of Arrow Head Trail. The concrete work for the Swains Creek Tank has also been completed. Pressure testing and flushing will also continue throughout the subdivision.

Phase#5 2005 Meadow View Heights Water System
June, 2005 Letter to residents of Meadow View Heights*
Meadow View Heights update from Sunrise Engineering 11/2/05:

Clockwise from top left: Meadow View Heights 500,000 Gallon Water Tank; Booster Pump Building at startup; Fire Hydrant in MVH; MVH Pipeline
All of the distribution system pipeline has now been installed as have all of the individual service meters. The tank has been completed as well as the booster pump facility. Approximately 40% of the system should have water service to their meters by November 24th. These areas include Lava Drive, Forest Drive, Black Rock Road, Buckskin Lane, Cedar Mountain Drive, Movie Ranch Drive, and the west end of Whispering Pines Drive. The remainder of the water system will still take several weeks to test, chlorinate, and flush. Regardless of weather the Contractor has stated that the entire system will have water before they shut down for the winter.
As part of the water project the roads will be widened where possible to 28 feet in width. Movie Ranch Road has been graveled to approximately Burr Circle. The extent to which the roads will be completed will be contingent upon the weather. At a minimum Movie Ranch Road should be completed to Buckskin Drive. Those roads that are not completed before winter will be roughly graded and cleaned up before winter sets in. Whatever is left will be completed when weather allows next spring."
